Excellent stock of all things Hornby, Peco etc - Although it is a shame that the owners dont seem to come across as very welcoming. Our experience on the few times we have been here is that unless you are an adult who knows what it is you want and how to ask for it in the correct terms using the correct terminology then they appear irritated. Not really the kind of place to pop in and browse as you arent really made to feel welcome - especially if you have a child with you. I think this has been touched on in a previous review but I agree with that point. We usually visit the model shop in York as we find the staff there far friendlier and helpful and are very good with my somewhat inquisitive son who admittedly does tend to ask alot of questions and browse extensively before he spends his hard earned pocket money!!

A decent selection of stock in 2mm and 4mm scales. Got two Farish wagons at bargain prices. Other stocks very competitive. Usually worth a visit.

Went to this shop for the first time, in the first week of 2020. Its like an Aladdins cave. Good service, a very helpful lady. She told me the shop has been opened for the last 52 years. Loads of Hornby OO trains, rolling stock, track and accesseries. Will defo go again, I highly recommend this shop.

Called ahead, lady on the phone lovely and really helpful, arrived at shop after a 40 minute drive to be told by an older male member of staff, strongly and in no uncertain terms that my mask exemption (laminated Hidden disabilities flowery lanyard) was not sufficient, a mask was offered by the member of staff but that isn't really the point of exemption. He explained that he wears a mask even though he is exempt and I guess that's his choice. I'm sure it would have been a great little place if I could get passed the doorway. All in all, a bit of a wasted journey for me. Two stars instead of one because the lady was pleasant on the phone but it would have been nice to know in advance of their intolerance to mask exemption.. shame all round, we all lost.
